Today, I am a CrossFitter – I find happiness in working on personal fitness goals, growing stronger, more agile, and better balanced – physically, mentally, AND emotionally. I feel like I did when I was a young airman in 1961, leading a life of hard work, commitment and self-discipline among FRIENDS -- other young men and women, similarly committed and disciplined. The happiness I feel today comes from the commitment, discipline, friendship, (and the support I give and receive) of working with my brothers and sisters toward common goals, only now the context is CrossFit 7220.
Often during the time since my I have missed the “brotherhood” of the squadrons I worked with. CrossFit workouts have restored that sense of belonging to a group of people who truly care about each other.Looking back I believe I owe my success to the same values I learned as a young warrior and now apply in a community known as CrossFit 7220.
